It is not a question of "if", but of "when" a computer's hard drive will fail. This is why it is so important to backup BJSurvey's database on a regular basis to a network drive. If you are only backing up to the local C: drive you will lose your backup, too if your hard drive fails.
You can check your backup settings by selecting "File | Settings | Global" from the menu:
